NEW YORK — Radical priest Daniel Berrigan wrote the introduction to the recently published book “Witness Against Torture: The Campaign To Shut Down Guantanamo” (Yellow Bike Press). Berrigan read the introduction aloud at a book release party held at the 6th Street Community Center in the Lower East Side on Thursday, December 18, 2008. At the event, WAT organizers urged those present to take part in the new “100 Days” campaign designed to pressure Barack Obama to keep his campaign promise to stop the use of torture as an instrument of U.S. foreign policy.
